UB Deans and Directors

The Center for Academic Development Services (CADS) and the UB Graduate School are pleased to the host the 9th Bi-Annual Statewide Student Graduate School Awareness Conference entitled “Beyond the Bachelor's Degree.” This year’s conference will be held on Saturday, October 11th, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are expecting 300 graduate school bound, non-traditional, first generation, and/or underrepresented minority students to attend.

This conference is a wonderful recruitment opportunity for schools and departments looking to identify high achieving students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. In previous years, more than 300 students from 25 colleges and universities across New York State have attended the conference. With your participation, this year’s conference will be just as successful.

This conference is open and worthwhile to students in all disciplines. We anticipate graduate school representatives from over 50 schools will participate in the fair. We believe students will benefit from information provided by your graduate programs. We encourage you to send a representative to participate in our afternoon Graduate School Fair from 1:30pm – 4:30pm. Each representative will be provided with a table for displays and information.

The fair is free of charge.

Displays must be set-up before 1:00 p.m. Departmental Representatives are also welcome to attend the luncheon immediately before the Graduate Fair. Register at www.ubevents.org/events/gac2008 before the Wednesday, October 1st deadline.

Questions? Please contact Shanna Crump-Owens at (716) 645-2234 or sicrump@acsu.buffalo.edu. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Conference!
