Sessions A and B Workshop Topics:
Workshop 1: Room 145 B “Preparing for Graduate School”:
Will focus on the various types of graduate schools available, as well as graduate school entrance requirements and admission information including: grade point averages, standardized test scores, and application procedures. Students will be given insight on where to begin and how to decide where to go.

Workshop 2: Room 145 A “Financing Graduate School”:
Participants will learn about methods of financing graduate education, as well as other issues to consider when planning for their graduate education and future success. Presenters:
- Kimberly Jackson, Director of Graduate Enrollment Services, Buffalo State College
- Michael Woodruff, Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Buffalo State College
- Hadar Borden, Honors Program, University at Buffalo
- Katie Darling, Assistant Dean, Office of the Graduate School, University at Buffalo
Workshop 3: Room 145 D “Preparing for Standardized Exams”:
Provides an overview & tips about various standardized tests (GRE, PCAT, GMAT, LSAT and MCAT) which are essential for entry into the graduate program of your choice. Preparatory courses will also be discussed.

Workshop 4: Room 145 E “Survival of the Fittest”:
Discusses negotiating the graduate school experience and strategies to help ensure student success in graduate school.
Presenters:
- Dr. Betty Shadrick, Special Assistant to the VP & Dean of Graduate Studies, University at Albany
Workshop 5: Room 145 C “Graduate Student Perspectives”:
Consists of current graduate students in various disciplines, who will share their experiences. Participants will learn about the expectations and realities of balancing the academic, social, and personal challenges of graduate school.
Session C Workshops:
“Panels of Faculty & Professionals”:
Panelists will discuss the expectations and challenges of graduate school. Other issues to be discussed include time management, mentoring and its importance, networking, and knowing your goals/objectives. Panels will be held for each of the following: Allied Health Professions, Education, Engineering, Health Related Professions, Humanities, Interdisciplinary, Law, Medicine/Dentistry, Social Sciences, and the Sciences.
